Patch FAQ
What types of patches do you offer?
We offer several premium patch styles to match different branding styles and applications:
Leather Patches – Classic, durable patches that are laser-engraved in a single color for a clean, timeless look.
Suede / Leatherette Patches – Laser-engraved leather, suede, or leatherette patches are single-color engravings. These are washable, durable, and slightly more flexible than genuine leather.
Embroidered Patches – Made with thicker thread and are fully embroidered for a traditional stitched look. These can feature multiple thread colors.
Woven Patches – Created with thinner thread to allow for finer detail and smaller text. These can achieve a full-color patch appearance.
PVC Patches – Flexible rubber patches that are durable, weather-resistant, and capable of bold, full-color designs.
We’ll help you choose the best option based on your logo, level of detail, and intended use.
Can leather or suede patches be full color?
Laser-engraved leather and suede (leatherette) patches are single-color engravings. The design is etched into the material rather than printed in color.
If you are looking for a full-color patch appearance, embroidered, woven, or PVC patches are better options.
What’s the difference between embroidered and woven patches?
Embroidered patches use thicker thread and are fully stitched, creating a classic embroidered look.
Woven patches use thinner thread, allowing for finer detail and smaller lettering with a smoother finish.
If your logo includes intricate detail or small text, woven patches are often the better choice.
What’s the difference between genuine leather and leatherette?
Genuine leather offers a rugged, natural look and develops character over time.
Leatherette / suede-style materials are more flexible, washable, and consistent in finish. They maintain their appearance well and are often preferred for durability and ease of care.
Both options provide a premium aesthetic — we can guide you based on your brand style and intended wear.
What are PVC patches?
PVC patches are made from flexible rubber material. They’re durable, waterproof, and ideal for outdoor or high-wear environments. PVC works especially well for bold logos and full-color designs.
How are patches attached to hats?
We offer two professional attachment methods:
Heat-Pressed Application
Patches are applied using a permanent, heat-activated adhesive that bonds securely to the hat. This method is clean, efficient, and the more cost-effective option.
Sewn-On Application
Patches can also be stitched onto the hat for a reinforced, traditional finish. This provides added security and a classic look.
We’ll recommend the best method based on the patch type and intended use.
What is the minimum order quantity?
There is no minimum order requirement.
However, we recommend starting at a quantity of
6 or more to avoid low-quantity price increases. Pricing improves at
12+ pieces and becomes more cost-effective as quantities increase.
Can you help with artwork adjustments?
Yes. We review every design to ensure it will translate well into your chosen patch style.
Our preferred artwork format is a vector file (.AI, SVG, .EPS, .PDF).
If vector artwork is not available, additional design fees may apply to recreate or adjust your logo for production.
Certain patch types may require simplified artwork for optimal clarity and durability.
How durable are patches?
All of our patch styles are designed for long-term wear:
• Leather develops natural character over time
• Leatherette and suede-style patches are flexible and washable
• Embroidered and woven patches maintain structure and color
• PVC patches are highly weather-resistant
With proper care, your patches will hold up for years.
How long does production take?
Standard production time is typically 10–14 business days after artwork approval. Certain patch types, including PVC and woven patches, may require slightly longer production times depending on complexity and quantity. Rush options may be available upon request.
Will I see a proof before production?
Yes. We provide a digital mockup for approval before production begins. Nothing moves forward without your sign-off.
Are patches better than direct embroidery?
It depends on the look you’re going for.
Patches create a bold, dimensional statement and are great for lifestyle or premium branding.
Direct embroidery offers a clean, traditional stitched look.
If you’re unsure, we’ll guide you toward the best option for your brand.
